The coins we work with have passed through countless hands, traded for all manner of goods and services hundreds or thousands of years ago. They were an intimate part of their cultures and absolutely a product of their time. The images each coin bears have stories behind them.

Coinage has only existed for about 2700 years. Previous to that, people bartered, trading goods and services. Coinage makes large scale transactions far more practical. As such, the first coins were made of valuable gold and silver. Eventually, smaller denominations made of base metals were created for every day transactions.
