Roman coin of Constantine with Roman Glass and Jasper
A coin of Constantine the Great hangs on a strand of beads including jasper and real Roman glass.
Constantine was a fourth century emperor most known for two things. The first is the founding of Constantinople, which he humbly named after himself. The second was the legalization of Christianity. Before Constantine, Christians were sometimes executed for their beliefs. Some Romans believed the empire was declining because Christians refused to honor the Roman gods.
